Big fat weddings are in trend these days. Decoration in Indian Weddings is the main part, as it adds to the happiness in the atmosphere. If the wedding function is at home or even if there are only some rituals to be performed at home, there is not a single corner which can be left out.
A wedding is a function which is most memorable for the one who is going to get married. So, the decoration should also be centralized to that person.
For an instance, hanging the posters/pictures of bride/groom through the ceiling by the ribbons or we can prepare a separate wall where the frames are used to show the function name along with the photos of bride/groom’s respective houses. We can always use the bright lights for making these pictures more attractive. We can decorate the temple with the diyas, flowers or lights. For decorating the home, the entrance gate is very important which can be done best by using flowers like orchids/lilies. After that, we can have specific areas for performing rituals like Mehendi, Haldi, sangeet etc. on which customized colours can be used like green coloured decoration at the Mehendi ceremony. This makes the ambience best suited to the occasion.
We can use drapes for decorating the staircases. If the function is at night, lights are the best option in which we have many options like Diyas, Candles, and LEDs. Like on most occasions, here also we can keep one corner of the home as the Selfie corner by decorating it with colourful drapes or the colours generally used in the marriage like green, yellow, white, red etc.
If there is a garden at the house, it is like a cherry on the top because the garden itself is full of colours. This place can be used for performing rituals or as the dining area. So, it can be decorated well in which trees or plants can be wrapped by using drapes and different coloured lights. We can always have the swings on a tree which are well decorated with flowers as it is in Indian tradition also. And, there are some more ways of using the coloured balls/sparkles/flowers which can be spread on the floor to give the colourful presence. The dining can also be well decorated by using contrast coloured clothes like white or red etc.
Instead of using bright coloured flowers, we can use the flowers which soothe the eyes. We can decorate the accessories which are going to be used in performing the rituals like thalis, clothes, tables, chairs with colourful ribbons, laces etc. The return gifts or sweets can be customized by using the names of bride/groom on them and by giving them a nice packaging. It leaves an imprint on the guest’s mind.
Already started thinking to apply these ideas? Go on then! It will certainly do wonders.
