For ‘Ganesh Puja’ and other puja ceremonies in wedding :

During the Hindu weddings, there are different ‘puja’ ceremonies. Different lords are worshipped during different ceremonies in which, turmeric is used. Turmeric is considered to bring good luck and prosperity and thus, it is used in the puja. The Ganesh puja is done for a successful and problem-free completion of the wedding and turmeric also enhances the good luck. Thus, turmeric powder enhances good luck, helps in the successful completion of the ceremony while making the wedding more pious, sacred and joyous.

For the wedding glow of bride and groom :

The Haldi ceremony is a very joyous ceremony. Every bride dreams to look gorgeous on her big day and thus, in the Haldi ceremony, the turmeric paste is applied on both the bride and the groom. Turmeric is one of the best skin cleansing herbs with antibacterial, antiseptic and healing properties which keeps the skin glorious. Traditionally, haldi is used with ubtan during the Haldi ceremony. During the Haldi ceremony, the family of groom and bride apply turmeric paste which gives a stunning glow! Thus, for beautiful skin and the mesmerizing wedding glow, turmeric powder is used.

For purification of all the sins :

Turmeric powder has a spiritual and mythological significance. This herb is considered very pure and brightening. Marriage is considered as the second life of a girl where she becomes a bride and enters her husband’s home. The starting of this phase is blessed while purifying the bride. During the Haldi ceremony, application of turmeric paste is followed by purification bath which helps in purifying the sins of the bride. This is a purification ceremony through which, the bride becomes strong and pure physically as well mentally!

For good luck and bright life :

Turmeric powder has deep yellow and orange shades. The yellow shade signifies sun and with this, comes the power of sunshine! Turmeric is widely used in different ceremonies and rituals as it is considered as the sign of good luck. Marriage is a new life for both the bride and groom as a couple and thus, good luck is showered over them with turmeric. Also, turmeric is the sign of power, fertility, sensuality which helps in the start of the new life of the bride with the groom on a positive note!
